How Chocolate is Made

Do you ever ate chocolate? Of course yes. How we get chocolate from? Chocolate froms a tree called cacao tree. Do you know where cacao tree grown?  This tree grows in equatorial regions, especially in place such as South America, Africa, and Indonesia. Have you ever heard about cacao beans? Well, Inside the fruits are the tree's seeds. They are also known as cacao beans.
First, the cacao beans are harvested. When they are fully ripe, they are bashed or cut from their tree. The beans and pulp are gathered and left to ferment. Then they are finally sun-dried. The beans need to be left to ferment for adequate time, to result in a strong chocolate flavour.
Second, the cocoa beans are roasted. Roasting temperatures are controlled, as the shells or husks of the beans may catch fire. The beans are exposed to an initial high temperature, lower the temperature gradually, and stop roasting when the beans start to crack.
Third, the roasted beans are winnowed to remove the meat nib of the cacao bean from its shell. Then the nibs are blended. The blended nibs are ground to make it a liquid. The liquid is called chocolate liquor. It tastes bitter.
Fourth, chocolate liquor are conched and refined. Conching affects the characteristic taste, smell and texture of the chocolate, while refining reduces the size of the cocoa solids and sugar crystals. Both processes can be applied at the same time with a powerful wet grinder.
Fifth, the chocolate is melted. The chocolate is ensured that it will be shiny and have a "snap" to it, rather than being matte and soft enough to melt in your hands.
Sixth, the chocolate is molded while it is still at about 90 degrees F. The chocolate is poured into the molds. The chocolate is refrigerated. The chocolate is then removed from the molds when the chocolate is hardened.
Making chocolate from the bean isn't easy. Chocolate companies invest millions of dollars into tools and machinery to turn bitter cacao beans into delicious chocolate bars. Well, I guess time is up for today. So, see you tomorrow. Bye.
